Time is all you need: optimizing Dutch auctions on Arbitrum
2024-11-13 , Stage 4

Dutch auctions are a common approach in MEV-mitigating mechanism designs. However, little work has been done in exploring optimal auction execution times. Using simulations, we demonstrate how optimizing for a key metric — wait time — can achieve optimal execution without the complexity of existing systems.

Cody has been building on Ethereum since 2017 including Microsoft Blockchain, Celo Labs, and Uniswap Labs.

Alan Wu is a protocol engineer at Uniswap.
His work focuses on blockchain protocols, market design, and on-chain systems.
He is a UCLA alumnus who studied computer science and previously contributed to Blockchain at UCLA.
At Devcon, he speaks about optimizing on-chain Dutch auctions on low-latency blockchains.

Brad is a researcher at Uniswap Labs. He holds a PhD in Physics from Princeton University, and a BSc in Physics and Mathematics from MIT. Abandoning the search for the fundamental truths of nature, he now focuses on topics covering decentralized finance, trading, and blockchains.
